Sustainability Victoria Circular Economy Business Support Fund.
Exciting news! Bettercup was a successful funding recipient through the Victorian Government’s Circular Economy Business Innovation Centre, delivered by Sustainability Victoria.
bettercup will be using the Circular Economy Support Funding to double our local manufacturing capacity in Melbourne and expand on our circular support services.
"Sustainability is at the core of why bettercup was founded - to reduce the impact that major events have on the environment. The funding of this project means we can scale our capacity rapidly to meet growing demand, supporting more events and venues to eliminate single-use cups across the nation and transition to a circular economy solution".

Over 19 days working with St George Open Air Cinema this year, Bettercup – founded in 2016 in Melbourne – diverted 50,000 single-use plastic cups from heading to landfill or polluting our oceans. The duo also work with event organisers on tailored washing solutions, either onsite at the event or back at the Bettercup Melbourne headquarters, where a majority of their cups are made and stored for client’s future events.”

We were invited to speak at the Victorian Greens Plastic Pollution Initiative where Nina Springle detailed the Victorian Greens plan to stop plastic pollution at the source and transition to a circular economy.
Christie shared her experiences and knowledge regarding event waste, reusable products and changing behaviour alongside the very knowledgeable and engaging Tim Grant (founder of Lifecycles). We had a lovely time and gained some valuable insights.
